Zahir become Table Tenis Champion

JU Alumni Association in Vienna warmly congratulates Mr. Zahir for his achievement in the Vienna based Table Tennis Tournament organized by Table Tennis Association of Vienna. Mr Zahir, an active member of the JU association in Vienna, became champion among many participants from different countries. During his study in JU, he was also 3 times SSB Hall Champion and 1 time JU Champion.

JUEXSAE offers Scholarship for JU Students

Since 2007 JUEXSAE offers scholarships to the students currently doing study in the University. The students who are not financially solvent enough but meritorious are selected for the scholarship. Distribution of the scholarships has been decided upon faculty basis headed by the following faculty members of the University. From left- (1) Dr. Farid Ahmed (Department of Physics)- Faculty of Sciences, (2) Dr. Sohel Rana (Department of Pharmacy)- Faculty of Biological Sciences, (3) Mr. Abu Deyen (Department of Bangla)- Faculty of Arts and (4) Dr. Shahedul Rashid (Department of Geography)- Faculty of Social Sciences.

Ph.D. Awarded to Ms. Maksuda Khatun

Ms. Maksuda Khatun, an ex-student of Jahangirnagar University (Department of Geology, Batch 18), has been awarded a Ph.D. degree by the University of Vienna. Her dissertation title is "Sedimentary petrology of Miocene (Badenian) sediments – Comparison of the Southern Vienna Basin (Austria) and the Bengal Basin (Bangladesh)". The alumni warmly congratulates Dr. Khatun for her achievement.
